Quit Assuming

Some people are damn right narrow minded, aren’t they? They really believe that if they think something’s black, well, it’s black. They don’t see that it could possibly be just an appearance, and that thing is actually dark navy blue or something. And they treat people the same way, without thinking that maybe they’re wrong because they don’t really know those people so well.
Take me for example…
I’m mistaken for a flirt when I’m friendly.
I’m mistaken for a bitch when I’m blunt.
I’m mistaken for sad when I’m alone.
I’m mistaken for shy when I’m quiet.
Well, quit assuming and get to know me.
That is… if you really want to. ‘Cause if you don’t, then why bother?

Oh I have these problems as well! A lot of people assume me to be cold/unfriendly before they start talking to me (I guess I just have that expression on my face?!) and then they say, “Oh, I didn’t know you were actually nice.” Hmph!

Uh, that’s so frustrating sometimes. It happens to me too and I always say to them “Hey, my face looks like this on a daily basis, how come you noticed I’m friendly just now?” :))
But hey, this way we realize who our real friends are.
